What We Do

About The Paul Ridd Foundation
  • What we do

    • We support people with learning disabilities and their families and carers when needing secondary care.
    • We run workshops for adults with a learning disability, families, carers and medical staff to increase awareness of the Hospital Care Bundle, the learning disability logo and ways in which reasonable adjustments can be made to improve health care for people with a learning disability.
    • We share Paul’s story wherever we can to raise awareness of the issues faced by the families of adults with a learning disability when accessing health care.
    • We give presentations and training to various groups to share the contents of the Pathway Care Bundle for Adults with a Learning Disability requiring Hospital Care.
    • We share Paul's story and the work we have been doing with Care provider organisations.
    • We support Learning Disability Champion Training.
    • We regularly meet with key people in every Health Board in Wales to promote a common approach to the hospital care received by people with LD.
    • We have been fundraising to provide Learning Disability Logo packs for every hospital ward and department in Wales.
    • We are currently developing e training and a Learning Disability Hwb
