Apologies we are a day late, I’m not sure where January went, but here is what we have got up to this month!

January is a quiet month for us with meetings and so on, but there is always work to do promoting awareness of our work and supporting families and carers.

We have sent out lots of ward information packs to some of our amazing learning disability liaison nurses in Wales.  These packs include logo stickers and magnets, which are used within hospitals to gently remind staff that the patient might need some extra support or care.  In case you have ever wondered the meaning of our logo, it is this: the speech bubble speaks for the person, and the people are in the centre of the logo symbolising people centred care.

We have also sent out Champion packs in readiness for training that is starting soon, which we are very happy about!

We also had the pleasure this month of meeting with 2 new liaison nurses in Powys, and amongst other things, they shared with us the work they are doing within the trust to raise the profile of the importance of the Annual Health Check.  This is such important work because a good Annual Health Check can help prevent issues becoming major problems with patients ending up in hospital.

Thank you for all your ongoing support.

From everyone at the Paul Ridd Foundation
