Hello!
We started the year off well, with a volunteer from Seasalt Clothing coming to help us for the day to create 60 Champion packs for Hywel Dda UHB, and also lots of logo packs for when they are needed.  We are so grateful for volunteers, so if ever you would like to help out please drop us a line!
As you may already know, we are completely self-funding and in the past we have been 100% reliant on the generosity of our supporters joining in with our various fundraising campaigns.  Over the last few years, we have continued to fundraise in this way when we can, but we have also been lucky enough to receive some grants from Mencap Cymru, the Moondance Foundation, and the Austin Bailey Foundation.  This month we have had some good chats with people who will try to help us find more permanent funding which would make such a difference to us and our work. If you know about organisations that issue funding, or if you have any experience of fundraising or grant writing and you would like to work with us as a trustee please get in touch for a chat.
We were involved in a meeting with the Public Ombudsman and members of the Consortium, organisations who support people with a learning disability in Wales. The Ombudsman are working on a strategic review and wanted to talk with us all to find out our views regarding accessibility of their service and their website for people with a learning disability.  We all had our concerns but hope that now we have connected we can help to raise awareness of the issues facing people with a learning disability within this important organisation.
We had a great meeting with Sarah and Susan from Hijinx, an inclusive theatre company based in Wales, and we really hope to be able to do some work with them in the future. The work that they do is amazing, including having a training academy, a film production company, a community outreach department, creating training videos and so on.  Check out their website for further information: www.hijinx.org.uk  You might have already seen some of their training videos created for Cardiff & Vale UHB on our social media recently, they really are excellent!

Thank you for all your ongoing support.

From everyone at the Paul Ridd Foundation
